The following information has been taken from the brochure published by the Society for Pentecostal Studies in the interest of the annual conference that will convene March 11-13 at Evangel University in Springfield, MO. Registration for SPS costs $35 if paid before February 15 and $40 thereafter. One does not have to be a member of SPS to attend the annual conference. There is an additional charge of $25 to attend the Saturday evening banquet and $4.50 each day for Roundtable Lunches. Accommodations

Conference registrants are responsible for arranging their own hotel accommodations. The primary conference hotel is Sheraton Hawthorn Park. To register call 1-800/492-5041 (in Missouri), 1-800/223-0092 (outside Missouri), 417/831-3131 (local),or 417/831-9786 (fax). The room rate is $59.00/night plus tax for either king or double. To get this rate, mention the Society for Pentecostal Studies at Evangel University when you make reservations. The hotel is located at 2431 N. Glenstone, Springfield, Missouri, 65804, which is about 0.5 miles south of I-44 (Exit #80A), 1.1 miles north of Evangel University on Glenstone, and 7 miles east of the Springfield/Branson Regional Airport on Kearney Street.

Transportation

Airport Shuttle. The Sheraton Hawthorn Park Hotel provides free shuttle transportation to and from the airport. If you know your flight information and arrival time when you register with the hotel, the hotel will provide a shuttle to pick you up when you arrive. Otherwise, you should call the hotel (831-3131) when you arrive at the airport; the hotel will then dispatch a vehicle.

Conference Shuttle. Evangel University will provide free shuttle service to and from the Sheraton Hawthorn Park hotel as well as to and from the Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center.

Car Rental. A vehicle may be rented at the Springfield/Branson Regional Airport. For Hertz dial 1-800-654-3131. For Avis dial 1-800-525-7537. For Dollar dial 1-800-800-4000. For National dial 1-800-328-4567. For Budget dial 1-800-527-0700. For Enterprise dial 1-800-736-8227; this number will give you options: press #2 twice; then dial 417-866-0300.

Parking. Free parking is available on the Evangel University campus at 1111 N. Glenstone in lot D or along the Glenstone Parkway. (See the campus map.)

Meals

The Friday Plenary Roundtable lunch ($4.50), the Saturday Special Interest Group lunch ($4.50), and the Saturday evening banquet ($25) can all be taken at Evangel University. Participants are on their own for all other meals, which can be taken at restaurants near Evangel’s campus or near the conference hotel. Additional information will be provided at registration. Preregistration for the banquet (on or before February 15) provides for a choice of entrée: (a) beef, (b) chicken, or (c) vegetarian. Those who register after February 15 will be served the beef entrée.

Directions

Springfield, Missouri, is located in southwest Missouri on Interstate 44 about 200 miles west of St. Louis, Missouri, 200 miles east of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and 180 miles south of Kansas City, Missouri. Evangel University is located at 1111 N. Glenstone, which is approximately 2.6 miles south of I-44 (Exit #80A) and 1.1 miles south of the conference hotel.

1. From I44, exit onto Business 65 south (also called Glenstone Ave.), at exit 81. South to Division about a mile (to the Evangel University campus); turn right onto Division and go about another mile to Boonville. Turn left, or south, and the A/G HDQ is the big green building on the right. A visitors parking lot is on the south side of the building. If that is full, a parking lot is available across Boonville from Radiant Bookstore. Do not park in Cox Medical Center parking lot. Enter the HDQ building on Boonville side. Receptionist will give directions.

2. If coming from Glenstone south, turn left at Division and follow directions above.

3. If coming from Kansas City on Highway 13, get on I44 east and follow directions in #1 above.

4. If picking up a car at the airport, get on I44 east and followdirections in #1 above.

5. If coming from 65 north or south, exit at Division and proceed west, crossing Glenstone and then follow directions in #1 above.
