Other Words In Print

The inaugural issue of The Journal of Pentecostal Theology was quickly followed by a second volume of equal value. The monograph series will shortly turn out Dr. Jon Ruthven’s On the Cessation of the Charismata, Pentecostal Formation: A Pedagogy Among the Oppressed by Dr. Cheryl Bridges Johns, and Pentecostal Spirituality: A Passion for the Kingdom by series editor Dr. Steven J. Land. Editors Dr. Chris Thomas and Dr. Rick Moore both delivered papers to the 1992 edition of the Society For Biblical Literature which met in San Francisco. And finally, a series of biblical commentaries has also been initiated by this industrious group from the Church of God School of Theology.

Clark H. Pinnock on Biblical Authority: An Evolving Postition by Ray C. W. Roennfeldt is recommended for those admirers of this scholar’s journey–with or without awareness of its charismatic dimension. Copies may be ordered from Andrews University Press, Berrien Springs, MI 49104, 616-473-4429 fax.

Dr. Guillermo Cook, who has served this year as senior scholar in residence at OMS, announces a volume forthcoming from Orbis Press that will feature an anthology of Latin contributors. Look for this stimulating piece under the title New Face of the Church in Latin America: Between Tradition and Change.

Loyola University Press will release Pentecostal Unity: Is There An Answer? By Terrence Robert Crowe. This doctoral dissertation comes recommended by Brother Jeffrey Gros, Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for the National Conference of Catholic Bishops who wrote the foreword.

Not to be missed is The Spirit of Life: A Universal Affirmation (Fortress, 1992) by Professor Jurgen Moltmann. Chapter 9 overlaps with Professor Moltmann’s paper at Brighton ‘91. Look for Restoring The Faith by Edith Blumhofer and Modern Christian Revivals edited by Blumhofer and Randall Balmer, both 1993 by University of Illinois Press.
